A mentor is an invaluable resource for guidance and advice, not a proofreader or resume writer.  The mentorship relationship might focus on goal setting and career planning that helps the mentee identify his or her professional and personal goals, as well as think about his or her long-term career path. A mentor's time should be respected and appreciated.

This might include discussing the mentee's early career dreams and possible career moves. This might also include the mentor offering advice on: how to achieve career dreams, things the mentee should do to set him or herself up to succeed in those goals, or "hard lessons" the mentor learned that the mentee can benefit from.
