Hidden Lake Gardens of Michigan State University is a 755 acre botanical garden and arboretum located in the scenic Irish Hills of southeastern Michigan. Open year-round, Hidden Lake Gardens offers peaceful natural areas, picturesque landscapes, and impressive collections of ornamental plants.
The Harper Collection of Dwarf and Rare Conifers and the Benedict Hosta Collection are nationally recognized plant displays. The Conservatory is comprised of three different environments: Tropical Dome, Arid Dome, and Temperate House. The MacCready Bonsai Collection is located in the outdoor Bonsai Courtyard and is open for viewing May through October. With six miles of paved driveway and 15 miles of hiking trails, there are plenty of beautiful scenic views including those of Hidden Lake. The Visitor Center contains a gift shop as well as an auditorium and classroom for educational events and programs.
