The Highline Botanical Garden Foundation’s mission is to preserve local gardens for public enjoyment and education. Begun in late 1999, the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden contains two heritage gardens moved to their current locations because of airport expansion. First came the Elda Behm Paradise Garden, moved from the shadow of the third runway, followed by the Seike Japanese Garden moved from the safety zone of the third runway. Today, 5 ½ acres are planted with iris, daylily, roses, fuchsias by our partner plant societies. Hours are dawn until dusk. Annual events include plant sales, an ice cream social and tours.
