Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden is a not-for-profit living museum that is home to 155-acres of gardens and woods, including a 1.8 mile handicapped-accessible paved path and almost 3 miles of additional wooded trails with signs in both English and Spanish.

Located just a few minutes south of downtown Rockford, Klehm’s origins date back to over 100 years ago when the land was first established as a tree nursery. Today, our grounds feature over 300 species of trees and shrubs (many of which date back to the early 1900s!) and a collection of specialty gardens highlighting a variety of native and ornamental plants, including peony and daylily varieties cultivated by Roy Klehm himself.

Other highlights are our Fountain Garden and Demonstration Gardens, and the popular Nancy Olson Children’s Garden which features a natural play area complete with a Kid’s Creek and splash pad perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day! Additionally, Klehm is dog-friendly and we encourage owners to bring their pets for a walk.

Open year round, Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden is waiting for you to explore. For visitor information or to arrange for a tour call 815-965-8146 or visit www.klehm.org.
