Learning & Engagement Program Coordinator

Job Qualifications

• Plan, develop, and implement in-person and virtual programming focused around The Arboretum’s mission and vision as well as aligned with Arboretum events.
• Coordinate and promote all education activities including creative hands-on onsite and offsite experiences. Identify, recruit, and schedule outside speakers and program instructors when needed.
• Foster and coordinate new ideas and concepts for programming themes and identify materials and resources to supplement, expand, or replace existing programming.
• Support department in the conceptualization, design, installation, and maintenance of interactive, educational and mission-relevant displays.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness. Recommend and implement modifications to improve program effectiveness.
• Schedule educational calendar, content, and reservations for programs, groups and field trips. Conduct logistical planning & coordination with the appropriate internal and external points-of-contact. Process invoices and payments for programs.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, Education, Communications or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• At least two (2) years of demonstrated experience in the field or in a related area.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines with attention to details.
• Impeccable communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) for effective interactions with the public.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Altru software knowledge and experience a plus.
• Ability to think on your feet and maintain flexibility with changing priorities and multiple tasks.
• Ability to work a variable schedule that can include evenings and weekends.
