Job Qualifications

The Streams & Trails Crew Member/Weekend Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance and repair to trails, edging, water features, walkways, and other hardscape features. This position operates equipment, dump truck, track hoe, tractor, and other heavy equipment as needed, to assist with garden maintenance, repair, and construction. This position inspects equipment before and after use. Assists crew in proper maintenance of woodland areas. This position acts as the Weekend Supervisor. This position may act as the on-site first responder on weekends, special events, and fundraising activities, including, but not limited to, Holiday Lights, Celebrate Days, weddings, and receptions. This position coordinates with the SPEV team, Welcome Center, and other weekend staff to ensure GWG operates smoothly.

Weekend work is required.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

-The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
-At least five years of experience as a carpenter or painter
-Applicable equivalencies may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Work experience in a landscape for public display
-Current First Responder Certification or the ability to obtain certification within six months

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance equipment repair and preventative maintenance procedures
-Skill in the repair and maintenance of tools and equipment
-Ability to read and interpret schematics and repair manuals
-Ability to determine problems and solutions concerning equipment and power tool malfunctions and perform necessary repairs
-Ability to perform first responder duties
