Public gardens are recognized in the cultural infrastructure of their communities as places that connect individuals with the exquisite beauty and inspiration of the natural environment, as well as provide opportunities for educational experiences in science, conservation, research and the arts. Communicating these features and benefits to attract multiple audiences and generate repeat visitation requires strong marketing programs.

The Marketing and Communications Professional Section provides opportunities for networking, professional development and resource sharing for marketing and communications experts for American Public Gardens Association members and the general public. By closely aligning with the American Public Gardens Association mission to serve and strengthen public gardens, the Marketing and Communications Section engages professionals who are responsible for supporting marketing, communications, public relations, events and visitor experience efforts. The Section offers an opportunity for sharing ideas and resources and offers interaction between marketing representatives from public gardens that are diverse in size, scope and mission to identify trends in the marketplace and find solutions to universal issues.
